Anna Sewell (1820%u20131878) was an English writer known for her only book, Black Beauty. She was born in Norfolk, England. When she was 14, she hurt her ankles, which made it hard for her to walk. Because of this, she used horse-drawn carriages to get around, which made her care deeply about horses. Black Beauty, published in 1877, tells the story of a horse%u2019s life and aims to teach people to be kind to animals. Sadly, Anna Sewell died in 1878, just a few months after her book came out. Her book is still loved today and has helped promote better treatment of animals.ANNA SEWELL
